Although most sportsbooks – including top-rated online sports betting site BetUS.com – have the National League All Stars as the slight -1.5 point favorites, tonight’s game could go either way which is why it will be undoubtedly be watched from coast to coast.

This MLB showcase is something of an annual institution

Known as the ‘Midsummer Classic’, this MLB showcase has become something of an annual institution, not least because the top players from each League get to show off their enviable skills. However, this year’s lineups have been shaken up some.

Due to a slew of injuries, both All Stars teams will be different than intended. For instance, the National League will be without starting left fielder Ryan Braun of the Brewers, shortstop Jose Reyes of the Mets and third baseman Chipper Jones of the Braves.

AL All Stars will have to do without Jeter and Rodriguez

However, players confirmed for the National League All Stars include catcher Brian McCann, first baseman Prince Fielder and second baseman Rickie Weeks. And although yet to be confirmed, Jair Jurrjens will likely run on to the field as the starting pitcher.

Meanwhile, the American League All Stars will (sadly) have to make do without MLB superstars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. But if it’s any consolation, Jose Bautista will start, who has hit 31 home runs so far this season, as will starting pitcher Jared Weaver.

For our MLB betting buck NL All Stars will rack up win

As to which of these All Stars team will razzle dazzle their way to a victory tonight, for our MLB betting buck, we believe the sportsbooks have it right, and that the National League All Stars will prevail late in the game and take home a well-deserved victory.
