July 5 – The pressure is on the New York Yankees to regain their winning form at Progressive Field in Cleveland tonight (Tuesday, July 5), after losing the first game of their three-game series to the Cleveland Indians 3-6 on Monday night, as well as their previous game to the New York Mets 2-3 on Sunday.

To kick off our MLB betting preview, consider that although the Yankees were beaten last night, sportsbooks – including top online sports betting site BetUS.com.pa – has laid the Yankees as the -1.5 point favorites over the Cleveland Indians, so it will be very interesting to see how tonight’s game plays out.
The Yankees welcomed back Derek Jeter to the lineup
Before these losses, the New York Yankees enjoyed a seven-game winning streak, and no doubt they as well as countless MLB betting fans want to see them get back on the winning train. And although the Yankees welcomed back Derek Jeter to the lineup on Monday, he couldn’t stop his team from going down.
That said, considering he has been out for three weeks, Jeter will obviously take a game or two to get back into the swing of things, and MLB betting fans will be hoping he shines bright in tonight’s game. After last night’s game, the talented shortstop told reporters that he ‘felt fine, and had no problems or issues.’
The Indians are full of confidence after Monday’s win
But Jeter aside, the Yankees boast a strong lineup including starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia, who is 11-4 with a 3.05 ERA in 18 starts this season, and comes in on a four-game streak. Plus, he has chalked up a 6-2 mark and 2.62 ERA in eight road games, and given away just three home runs in 58 1/3 frames.
The Cleveland Indians, meanwhile, will be brimming with confidence tonight following their win over the Yankees, not to mention the fact they are at the top of American League Central division, and have been for 82 days. But most of Cleveland’s success can be attributed to the team’s exemplary pitchers.
Consider that in their previous 20 games, the Indians’ pitchers have accomplished a none-too-shabby 2.92 ERA, as well as the fact that overall, Cleveland’s bullpen ranks second best in the American League, which is no mean feat.
For our MLB betting buck Cleveland will make it 2-0
Hitting-wise, the Indians boast the services of designated hitter Travis Hafner, who was 1-for-4 in the series opener, as well as starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco, who is 8-4 with a 3.54 ERA in 15 starts this season and has won four of his last five decisions.
From an MLB betting perspective, although the Yankees are the slight favorites ahead of tonight’s game, betting fans will be all to aware that the Indians are 7-0 at home against winning clubs. That said, the Yankees are 26-27 in night games. But for our baseball betting buck, the Cleveland Indians will make it 2-0.
